An All Year Round Open Studio Made Possible using a Matterport 3D Gallery Virtual Tour

FaMAS (Falcon Mill Art gallery and Studios) in Bolton recently hosted an open studio weekend. This allowed members of the public to have an exclusive look around the art gallery and into the studios. People could take a closer look inside the artist studios, take brochures and purchase art on the day.

This is normally only possible twice a year, so we thought it would be a good idea and of great benefit to them if we could offer them a Matterport 3D studio and art gallery virtual tour. This would in effect give them an open studio day every day of the year.

The art gallery and studio virtual tour is the largest we have produced yet spanning the entire floor of Falcon Mill. The spaces comprises the gallery, 11 studios (2 of which are used by the owner, Pete Marsh), the lift, back storage, kitchen and even the toilets.

We made extensive use of the Mattertag feature of Matterport virtual tours to add extra information. This includes links to the artists websites, online shops or Facebook pages.
